Clinical Results

Vigchemo has been clinical proven to be effective for cancers patients by famous universities in Hong Kong and Mainland China.

(I) Clinical Trials Centre, Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong

In 2005, a phase II clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of Vigchemo in reducing the impact of chemotherapy induced side effects on the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy by Clinical Trials Centre, Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong and investigated by a Professor of Department of Clinical Oncology, The University of Hong Kong.

The findings are:

  1. Vigchemo can reduce side effects induced by chemotherapy and it helps 83.3% of the clinically-tested cancer patients to improve their quality of life.
  2. Vigchemo does not increase chemotherapy induced toxicities while Vigchemo does not affect the efficacy of chemothereapy.
  3. Vigchemo is safe when used in cancer patients.

(II) The Shenzhen Research Institute of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

The Shenzhen Research Institute of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University conducted a study of Vigchemo on mice implanted with lung cancer.

The findings are:

  1. Vigchemo acts as adjuvant to chemotherapeutic drug, Cyclophosphamide, in suppressing the growth of the mice's tumor and extending their survival time. Vigchemo delivers chemotherapeutic adjuvant function by uplifting the peripheral blood cell index and transformation rate of spleen lymph cells.
  2. In controlling the size of tumor and extending the survival time, the potentiating effect of administering Vigchemo with chemotherapeutic drug is much better than administering chemotherapeutic drug only.
  3. Administering Vigchemo alone can suppress the growth of the mice's lung tumor, extend their survival time and heighten the transformationrate of spleen lymph cells. Its therapeutic effect is similar to Cyclophosphamide (30mg/kg).

(III) Department of Immunology, Peking University

The result of efficacy study of Vigchemo conducted by Dr. Gao Xiao Ming, Department Head of Immunology of Peking University, on mice immunity system, was published in Chinese Archives of Traditional Chinese Medicine in August 2003.

The findings are:

  1. Vigchemo can accelerate the restoration of the white blood cells to normal level.
  2. Vigchemo can help the lymph cells to re-build and help peripheral lymph cells homing to lymphatic organ and strengthen the functions of lymph cells.

The above studies on the efficacy of Vigchemo illustrate that:

  1. If cancer patients take Vigchemo while they are undertaking chemotherapy or radiation therapy, it can suppress the growth of tumor, extend survival time and prevent the side effects of dizziness, vomiting, hair loss and fatigue. Vigchemo can improve the quality of life of the patients during the chemotherapy and radiation therapy and enable the patients to recover quickly. The continual usage of Vigchemo can even lower the risk of relapse.
  2. Taking Vigchemo after tumor surgery can help patients to recover quickly.
  3. If the patient is in terminal stage and not suitable for receiving any surgeries, chemotherapies or radiation therapies, he or she can take Vigchemo solely as Vigchemo has a similar effect as Cyclophosphamide (30mg/kg). By continual usage, patient's quality of life can be improved since the growth of tumor can be suppressed and survival time is thus extended.
